ADMISSIONS PROCESSFamilies interested in considering The College School for their children’s education should contact the Director of Admissions. The admissions process is as follows: - Contact the Director of Admissions to request an information packet. You are also welcome to schedule a tour at this time.
- Attend our Fall Open House on Saturday, November 13, from Noon to 3 p.m. or one of our Tours on Tuesdays from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday tours begin on October 5 and run on selected dates through mid-February. Scheduled dates in 2010 are October 5 and 19, November 2 and 16 and December 7. In January 2011, scheduled dates are January 4, 18, 25. In February, dates are February 1 and 8. A complete listing of dates is also listed on the Admissions Calendar. We request an RSVP to admissions@thecollegeschool.org for all Tours on Tuesday events for planning purposes.
- Complete and submit an application by February 4, 2011 for the 2011-12 school year. (Note: We continue to accept applications beyond the deadline on a rolling admissions basis.)
- After we receive your child's application, we will work with you to schedule a classroom visit for him or her. Applicants for preschool, kindergarten and first grade visit for one hour with classroom teachers in February. These visits are set up during after school hours, typically from 3:45 to 4:30 PM. Second through eighth grade applicants visit for a full day (8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.) in their current grade level classroom.
- Admissions decision letters are mailed in mid-March; however, TCS has a rolling admissions policy and applications continue to be accepted after February for grade levels with openings until classes are full. We continue to work with rolling admissions even during the school year and can accept some mid-year students, depending on the grade level. Families that have applied will receive letters of acceptance or waitlist letters. As openings become available, we fill slots from our waiting list for each grade. Some families may receive letters of regret if we believe the school is not a good match for the student's needs at the current time.
- Enrollment decisions are needed by early April for accepted families, typically three weeks after decision letters mail.
- For 2011, decision letters for the main admissions cycle will mail on March 10, 2010, with responses requested by April 8, 2010. These two dates are shared by all ISSL schools.
